Why are the home owners of PASRD paying for a website when important notices aren't being posted under the "Notices" section???
I understand that the board has made the "legal requirements" by posting such notices in the Bend Bulletin and The Nugget Newspaper. Doesn't the board think these notices would reach more home owners if they were posted on the website?
I am truly infuriated that we are paying for a website but none of the pertinent information is being posted on it. This is truly concerning.
Thanks again for saying that. Whitney actually started volunteering just to do the technical stuff like meetings and websites. LOL. If he was retired, he would love to get on there and dink around with it. But not with everything else. Too bad Annie left, she was interested in doing more with it too and helped him out. There has to be someone here that has some time and skills for this?
I think that is a great idea. I wish I could help but that is out of my realm.
Again, I have no quarrel with Whitney and I am truly sorry it came off that way. I am just frustrated that I could have attended the hearing but because I don't read the newspaper I wasn't aware I could attend. Yes, that's on me as that meets legal requirements. It's just frustrating that we have this great website/resource and those dates/notices aren't being put on it.
Sure, there's a lot more information that could be put up on it. And, it could use some re-organization as well. It has much potential. Maybe we could find the board another person to volunteer to keep it updated in our community? Maybe do that before we hire someone, certainly more expense is not desired.
I agree, that is too much for one man to do, especially as a volunteer.
My statement/question was not saying the website wasn't up to my standards. You would just think that if there is a website for the road district that a court hearing date for the validation process would be posted on it. You would think that anything that was going to be posted in the newspaper for legal purposes it would be posted to the website to ensure all home owners would see the notice. You don't agree?
Again, I am not degrading Whitney or the website. I am stating that such important information should be posted on it.
Just one more quick comment. A professional website professional should be hired by the Road board to replace the volunteer work of Whitney. Asking one volunteer to do multiple tasks and functions (meetings, website, on top of the usual duties of Secretary is unusual and frankly too much. So to make everyone happy and to make sure the website is up to everyone's standards, the Road board should seek out and hire someone for this task. Can anyone make any recommendations? Please bring ideas to the next meeting, as I will be making this proposal as a road member.
Let's be really clear here. Before Whitney volunteered to put a website together, design it, collect all the information for it and organize it, find a host and a website platform....before all of that - there was nothing - no website. And all of this work and effort is absolutely NOT paid for. It is was given freely in hours and hours of volunteer work. There is nothing in the road board policy and procedure requirements that mandate a website. This website project is one that comes on top of the secretary position that Whitney is temporarily holding.
Personally, I would LOVE to see Whitney hand this project off to someone else. So, if anyone here that is unhappy with the website wants to volunteer to manage the website, update information on it, and maintain the technical aspects of it - we would welcome your help.
Just one other thing - all the zoom meetings and so many other technical aspects of our road board are being voluntarily managed by Whitney.
I have never frankly in my decades of volunteer work, ever seen so much mean and hostile treatment of a volunteer.
I hope there will be some skilled website folks who pipe up to volunteer for this tedious, laborious job, that requires technical skill.
