Just heard from the county. Nyle has received a right of way activity permit as of July 13. The county presumes Nyle has the blessing and concurrence of the Panoramic Access Special Road District. Not sure if that means the Board voted to support Nyle (which they did) or the electors voted to support Nyle (which they didn't). Anyone interested in reading about this permit it can be found on www.deschutes.org
It will give neighbors the opportunity to police Nyle's activities to be sure he is following all of the county guidelines. There are still legal pathways for those not exhausted by dealing with Nyle throwing his weight and money around and being a general bully to get what he wants. The most interesting thing I read in my research today is this quote from the county regarding Local Access Roads "good neighborhood relations and communication pays dividends." Good neighborhood relations left under Nyle's presidency. Both the county Commissioner and the County road department have been amazing to talk to and have been very forthcoming and helpful in all of my correspondence with them. The good news is at least Nyle has to spend his own money. Maybe at the next meeting Nyle will keep it under and hour as he always promises and never does. I believe I am done with these meetings, It is not lost on me that I am lucky enough to live in paradise. Nyle and the Board is done taking up my time. To quote Dennis, I look forward to giving you all "a five finger wave" even if we disagree on this issue.
I will definitely be looking into this Shiela, thank you!
I am unsure why we are even discussing the paving of Nyle's and the other two homeowner's road at the meetings when nothing has been resolved with Buckhorn. If I were president, I would be embarrassed to discuss the paving of my road especially when it is the best road in the district and the other two roads I manage are horrible! I guess that's just me though.
