If there is so much interest in people paying extra and starting a go fund me account to pay extra legal fees then why don’t these same people just front this extra money to fund the road project? I personally think it is a complete waste of money to pay lawyers when all that money could fund our roads. Start a go fund me account to fund the roads. Get the funds together while we wait for prices of oil to go back down, it WILL go back down. Use the current road district funds to fix properly the really bad areas which is what road district money is for, NOT to line lawyers pocket. Be patient and do it at the right time, pushing now is financially stupid. My whole private objection to this whole thing has been how to personally come up with my portion of the cost from day one (and that was back when everyones portion was approximately $5000!), now the whole project with wasted fees on lawyers and the extreme cost of oil and labor is beyond overwhelming! Let’s be sensible people, some people can afford more and some less, those that can afford it are in a hurry and seem to not care that in this time of extreme inflation some people are more concerned with the simple cost of living right now. Start the go fund me for our roads but NOT for more lawyer fees I beg you.

sandyglee, we know this. Hoping the GoFundMe option is gone, and also the neighbor funding also. We would like to see this on a ballot measure, either one. We feel the best way to start would be the main tributary roads. We shall see when the results of the "gauge" survey are in, if we hear about that. I am agreeing with you. We donate to real needy GoFundMe's often. The 9% interest rate quoted on the neighbor funding option is a bit too high and it so risky for us. We shall see what is legal and what proceeds.
A ‘go fund me’ is a monetary contribution towards something you feel you would like GIVE money towards to help accomplish a mission or goal. NOT money to be lended and paid back. (Especially NOT with interest,)
We, agree, that this can wait until prices go down again. However, we have been told that we (residents) do not have to get a vote in this. Also, your thought of those wanting to fund legal fees can fund roads. That is what the two options are about. We who may need to use the donations to assist with our share of the assessments will have an interest rate of 9% if we are not mistaken. We would rather see this go on a ballot measure with a bond. If our taxes go up, so be it, but we would be going through the legal voting process recognized in the USA as a democratic vote.
